A rather short, dark skinned girl paced back in forth in front of a large birch oak tree. She was beginning to ware a trek into the ground but she didn't care. He was late. Again. It was really simple. Finish the chores. Shower. Load Kumi up. And then meet Riley in the park at 7:33. It was easy peasy. Or so Riley thought but apparently she wasn't factoring in that it was Damien. "Minta, where could he be?" She asked her rather gangly puppy. Aminta, cocked her head to the side and looked at Riley with big doe eyes. She seemed confused. See, Aminta was waitiing, too. She was promised a puppy play- date with her buddy, Kumi. "Boys," Riley sighed flopping down onto the dirt next to her furry companion. Aminta sighed and laid her head in Rileys lap as the girl stretched out as if to show the same sentiment towards the opposite sex.

Damien yawned as he wandered after Kumi in the peaceful park. Kumi was wandering about sniffing this, barking at that. He seemed to feel just as lazy as his master,"Damn this heat!" Damien muttered,"Sucking out all our energy" he felt especially bad for his husky and his big thick coat. Kumi stopped to smell something particularly interesting. His tail twitched for a moment before he took off running after the scent his tail wagging madly and his tongue flopping out of his mouth. "I guess that means you know where the girls are!" Damien laughed chasing after Kumi who was barking excitedly now.

Riley had almost fallen back asleep on the ground when she heard barking. Aminta immediately sat up and let out a bark of her own. But she didn't leave her masters side. The girl sat up using her hands to keep her that way. "I guess Damien and Kumi finally woke up, huh girl?" Riley asked scratching the wolfounds scraggly coat.

Damien heard Aminta's familiar bark and finally caught sight of her and Riley sitting infront of a large oak tree. Kumi was already sniffing Aminta eagerly, the heat no longer seemed to bother him. Damien smiled at Riley when he finally reached them,"Hey you!" he said cheerfully taking a seat next to her.

When the dog and boy finally appeared on the path Aminta jumped up and ran over to Kumi. He began sniffing her. She began sniffing him. It was all very canine. Damien was..Damien. Riley knew this but she still couldn't understand how he could be so..oblivious? She'd checked her cell phone. He was forty minutes late. Giving him the angriest look she could manage while he was acting so cheery, she said, "You're late. Really..really late."

Damien's face slowly fell form his face, he could tell by her tone that Riley wasn't pleased. He glanced at his watch and she was right, he was pretty late. I must have been wandering around with Kumi longer then I thought? he asked himself. He avoided eye contact with Riley and tried muttering a feeble apology, playing with a loose strand on his torn jeans.

With arms crossed Riley stared forward and didn't even give a sideways glance to Damien. Why should she feel sorry? He was the late one. But his feeble apology was tearing at her heartstrings. "D, you can't be late to everything all the time," She started. "Sometimes its okay to be late places. Sometimes I'm late." That was a lie. Riley Mehlee Scott was the most punctual person on the planet. It was her OCD issue. "But you're always late! Are you gonna be late to Allie and Ians wedding? Or to my race next week?" She was ranting and she realized it. Riley was also being nuts. "Oh, god. I'm sorry," she said covering her mouth with her hand and looking at Damien out of the corner of her eyes.

Damien stared at his feet. He felt guilty about everything Riley said, he knew she was right. Unlike her Damien was possibly the most laid back person on the planet, quite the duo. "I'd never be late for any of that!" he knew his voice sounded as assuring as a monkey "a monkey? Why am I comparing myself to a monkey? How can you tell how assuring a mon...GAH FOCUS DAMIEN!" he was still avoiding eye contact with Riley as he started playing with a shoelace,"It's okay, you know I don't really take things seriously enough" he sighed.

Hearing Damien's reply Riley raised her eye brows. He didn't sound serious. But that was also just Damien's way. "I know you wouldn't..." she finally gave in sighing. She scooted closer to him and leant her head on her shoulder. "Allie is driving me crazy." She admitted. "She's bridezilla."

Damien gave a sigh of relief, he knew his talking skills were lacking, he was just lucky Riley was used to him. He laughed lightly,"You only get married once. Or would you rather we send her to Tokyo and reek havoc there?"

The idea of sending Allie to Tokyo made Riley's head stop hurting. That's how bad it was. Just the thought of Allie being gone made Riley's life easier. "Would you really help me send her to Tokyo?"

Damien smiled,"You know it!" he said, his voice becoming more cheery,"Or would it be easier for us to hide in Tokyo where she can't find you?"

Riley thought about it. A vacation in Tokyo would be nice. And why should they waste their money on Allie when they could go themselves? "We should go to Tokyo! I mean, we could have fun, and no Allie and her bridezilla self can deal by herself! Ungrateful," Riley said.

"Great!" Damien cheered, lets go get the tickets now,"can we bring the dogs? Or would Allie be able to find us better if we brought them?" He thought a moment,"Or would you rather dump their needy asses on her so she can be annoyed to hell?"

"Woah!! Too many options," Riley said bringing her hand up to rub her forehead. It was like it was with Allie. This color or that color? That dress or that one? Her as a bridesmaid or her? Things were stressful. "We can't go. I've got my horses. And..gahh. Life sucks."
