Knight was on his heels as Nicole led him to the indoor arena. It was in the middle of the day so no one else was in there. "Good, if your gonna be really stretching out where gonna need the place to ourselves."
Tightening the girth, Nicole led him over to the mounting block and swung lightly into the saddle, adjusting her stirrups as Knight walked to the rail.
Once Nicole was all set and Knight was warmed up, Nicole urged the stallion into a canter and Knight picked up the faster pace in a heart beat and soon they were flying around the indoor.
Checking around, making sure no one was around, Nicole loosened up the reins a bit and asked the thoroughbred for a nice easy gallop and Knight burst out with a new speed.
Grinning, Nicole patted her beloved stallions neck. She sure missed galloping the stallion down the track but now he was 5, no one was willing to risk him to continue racing, especially now that he has been showing up lame every now and then.
After galloping and cantering around for another few minutes, Nicole pulled Knight back to a trot, then a walk, leaning down to wrap her arms around his neck and reach up to scratch behind his ears. "Thats my good boy. Lets get you back now." Nicole said, pulling Knight to a halt and dismounting.
Knight was barely blowing as she led him back to the barn but at least he got his kinks out. "You missed that to, didn't you?" Nicole asked. Knight bobbed his head and rubbed his head against her arm. "I love you to sweetie."
