"Hi my sweet Sterling." Nicole said, handing the mare a couple of baby carrots. Sterling nickered happily before crunching on the treats and rubbing her muzzle along Nicole's arm. Kissing the mares muzzle, Nicole waited till Sterling was done with her treats before leading her to a set of crossties. Grabbing the curry comb and mit, Nicole went over the mares thick grey coat rubbing out all the dirt and stains before brushing down the mare to a shine. Then combed out her long mane, and hand picked the shavings from the mares tail before picking out her hooves. "Lets give you a quick clipping." Nicole said, going to the office and grabbing the clipping box and a braiding kit, carrying it back over to the mare. First Nicole clipped the mares fuzzy muzzle then clipped a bridle path. After doing a quick clipping, Nicole spent a half hour pulling the mares long mane until it was all even and at a nice length. "Time for a walk." Nicole said, unsnapping the mare from the crossties and walked Sterling around the outside of the barn under the canopy for a while before leading the mare back to her stall for the day.

"Good morning Sterling." Nicole said happily as she came down to the mares stall. Sterling whinnied a happy greeting as she saw Nicole, thrusting her head over the stall door and bobbing her head eagerly. "Yeah thats my girl. You hungry?" Nicole asked and Sterling bobbed her head again. "I'll be right back." Going to the feed room, Nicole scooped out the mares morning rations and adding the suppliments and nuturients the mare needed, carrying the feed back to the mares stall and dumping it. While Sterling ate her breakfast eagerly, Nicole cleaned the mares water buckets and refilled them with cool clean water. Once Sterling was done eating, Nicole led the thoroughbred out of her stall and into a set of crossties. "No paddocks today. It's raining pretty hard outside." Nicole told her as she went over Sterling's grey coat with a curry. After giving Sterling a thorough grooming and placing a light sheet over the mares back and buckling the straps, Nicole quickly clean out the mares stall before leading Sterling back into her stall for the night.
