"Rebel!" Alex exclaimed, hurrying down the barn aisle at Snowy Ridge. He hadn't seen his gelding in what seemed like forever, and he couldn't wait to take him out on a ride. Aislin had been the one in charge of doing all of the moving, and had told Alex that she didn't need his help. So he'd disappeared for a few days, and gone to visit various farms around the new town, looking for work. He loved working for Aislin at Snowy Ridge, but he definitely needed another job because he needed more money so he could buy another horse.
When he reached Rebel's stall, Alex grinned. He looked as stunning as ever, with his gorgeous golden dappled coat gleaming in the afternoon sunlight. Rebel nickered happily, and walked over to Alex. He rubbed his forehead in the boy's chest. "Aw, you missed me. I missed you too," Alex murmured, planting a kiss between the gelding's ears. "We're gonna go out for a ride, big boy," he said, slipping under the stall guard.
The Thoroughbred had already been groomed by the stable hands, and his stall was clean as well. Alex checked his water, and saw that it was full of fresh water. He smiled. Having other people do a chore that was usually his work made him happy sometimes. And Aislin even let him keep Rebel at Snowy Ridge for free, so he wasn't paying for it. There was still some hay in the stall as well, so Alex just stepped back out into the aisle, and headed to the tack room.
In the tack room he picked up Rebel's Woof boots, his jumping saddle, a baby blue saddle pad, and his jumping bridle. He brought it all back to the stall, and began to tack up his gelding. Rebel stood almost perfectly still while Alex tacked him up, although he did move around a bit from time to time. When Rebel was all ready to go, Alex pulled on his helmet and gloves, and lead the Thoroughbred out of the stall. "Let's go have some fun," he said softly, leading Rebel out of the barn.
