Teddy gracefully goes through the dressage figures as I warm him up, asking him to take the figures at the walk, trot, and cater until every muscle is limber. We work on extending and collecting after that, and he lengthens and shortens his strides just like I ask. Then I put him through the different steps, and I’m amazed again at how instantly he responds to my signals and how much of a team we are. That’s what I love about dressage. It really makes a horse and rider one mind in two bodies. I’ve combined that with Parelli lessons for Teddy, so it’s worked even better. He always seems to like it when I enter him in competitions too, always performing his extra best. I can't wait to enter him in another show.
