I take Treasure out for another breeze, and there's more bounce in his step as soon as his hooves hit the track. He loves his life as a race horse, that's for sure. After warming him up at a walk and trot, I keep the canter light and easy, and then after we've lapped the track twice I move my hands ahead and knead them into his neck. He responds to the signal, giving me the speed I'm asking for and much, much more. If I didn’t know better, I’d say he was flying and his hooves never touched the ground. He goes through the workout beautifully, and when he finishes, I check my stopwatch. "Wow boy. You shaved a whole three seconds off your best time for that distance!" He blows, as if saying "Only to be expected." I giggle, and after he's been cooled out, I pet him and praise him and take him to the paddock.
