Pirate’s done so exceptionally well at learning dressage I decide to just take him out for a nice, easy trail ride today and give him a break from having to think so much, even though he's very smart and always loves a challenge. That's what's made him so enthusiastic about dressage, and I'm just glad I could help him focus his spirit and energy. We take it easy, and he tosses up his head, enjoying himself, although he’s gotten to love dressage too. He arches his neck and toe dances down the trails, just like he was racing again. He gives a proud toss of his head, and I smile and stroke his neck. He knickers his pleasure and I smile, glad that I’ve gotten the chance to make horses as happy as they deserve to be. Pirate never spooks as we head down the trails, acting just like a well trained pleasure horse should act. He loves it when I let him have a gallop on the section of trails that I know is flat and strait so he can't stumble. When we head back, I can see he had a great time.
