I decide to play around with an idea Angie gave me awhile ago, and start training Midnight in dressage. I ride her through some basic dressage figures at a walk, and she does very well. She's always been a beautiful mover.
After we've ridden through the basic figures, I ask her for some flying lead changes. I know all race horses and ex- race horses know how to change leads, but Midnight seems to think it's odd to keep switching back and forth. When we stop, she shakes her head like he's saying "Why are we doing this? Why change leads if I'm not on a track?" I giggle, and tell her it's all part of her training.
